Change for Hope fundraiser for local cancer patients kicks off on primary campuses
Ashley Berry rallied the students to get involved in a fun fundraiser that encourages them to fill up buckets with change to help provide for the needs of local cancer patients.

Lufkin Middle School eighth grade STEM Prep students participated in their first Science Fair in the new LMS Cafeteria. The students placing in the top six move on to the Region 7 Science Fair in Kilgore on Feb. 9.

Lufkin Middle School students move into new cafeteria first day back tomorrow
Today was a soft opening for the new LMS cafeteria that was part of the $75 million bond the community voted for in 2018. The LMS Student Nutrition staff cooked lunch for the Student Nutrition Services staff and Admin team. Tomorrow will be the real test when the students arrive.

The “Superior Achievement” rating is the state’s highest, demonstrating the quality of Lufkin ISD’s financial management and reporting system. Lufkin ISD received a score of 100 out of 100 points.

Two LMS students will participate in MAD-learn Virtual Student Showcase
“The virtual showcase is not only a celebration of CS Ed Week, but it will give students the opportunity to work on their presentation skills and hear from peers who also created apps, ” said Robbie Kuykendall, GEAR UP coordinator.
