Kristi Gay was appointed to the Lufkin ISD Board of Trustees in June 2016. Kristi is a 1981 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in accounting and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. She works as a Senior Vice President and Relationship Manager at Cadence Bank. Kristi serves on the boards of the Lufkin ISD Education Foundation, Second Helpings, and Angelina Thrive. Kristi is married to Ricky Gay, who is a graduate of Lufkin High School and Stephen F. Austin State University. He works as a forest manager for Acorn Forestry. Kristi and Ricky have three children, Kendall and Bailey, who are graduates of Texas A&M University, and Wyatt, who is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, son-in-law, Ben, who is a graduate of Texas A&M University, and two grandsons, Emerson and Archer. Kristi and Ricky are passionate about music education and served 15 years in the Lufkin Band Booster organization while their children attended Lufkin ISD schools.

Matt Knight was elected to the Board in May of 2018. He is a graduate of Hallsville (Texas) High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and his Masters in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. He brings 15 years of experience working in public education as a teacher, coach and administrator. Knight is an associate at The Advanced Financial Group in Lufkin. He currently serves on the Boys and Girls Club of Lufkin Advisory Board, the Angelina County Chamber Leadership Tomorrow Committee, the Lufkin Youth Baseball Board, and is active coaching youth sports. He is a member of the Lufkin Host Lions Club, the Angelina County A&M Club, the Texas A&M Lettermen’s Association, and is a graduate of Leadership Lufkin. Matt’s wife, Brandie, is the Success Coach at Lufkin High School. They have three children, Cooper (LHS Class of ’24), Avery (’32) and Landry (’33). The Knights are members of Lufkin First United Methodist Church.

Allyson Treadway Langston was elected to the Lufkin ISD Board of Trustees in 2013. A mother of three children, ages 12, 18, and 22, Allyson and her family have lived in Lufkin for 27 years. The daughter of native Texans, Allyson graduated from Maine South High School in Park Ridge, Illinois, in 1990. She graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education in 1994. In 1997, she earned her Master of Arts in English at Stephen F. Austin State University. In 2000, she completed a Master of Education in Educational Leadership at Stephen F. Austin State University. Her career in education includes teaching students in grades 5th through 12th, as well as teaching English and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy in the Secondary Education Department at Stephen F. Austin. Allyson served as Assistant Head of School at St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School. Allyson joined the Junior League of Lufkin in 1998 and served as President, VP Community Projects, VP Communications and more during her active years. She has also served on the boards of Project Celebration; Garrett, Dunbar, and Anderson PTK; Lufkin Middle School PTS; First Christian Preschool; the Museum of East Texas. She is currently a board member of the Lufkin Education Foundation, Second Helpings, Angelina Arts Alliance and the Junior League of Lufkin Sustainers. She is the Interim Executive Director of the Museum of East Texas. She and her family attend First Baptist Church in Lufkin. Allyson is married to Kevin Langston, a 1989 LHS graduate, and their children are proud Lufkin Panthers and LHS alumni.

Melinda Moore was elected to the LISD Board of Trustees in May 2024. She is from Liberty, Texas, where she graduated from Liberty High School in 2001. She is a 2004 graduate of Lamar University, where she received her Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in Accounting and Finance, and is a Certified Public Accountant. She has been working in accounting for over 20 years. Currently, Moore is the Managing Member of Moore Account Services, LLC. She is serving as the past chairman of the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce, treasurer of the Lufkin Industries Foundation and St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church. Melinda is former board member and past vice-president of the Product Development and Small Business Incubator Texas State Board, appointed by Governor Abbott. She is a Leadership Lufkin Graduate Class #35. Melinda and her husband of 16 years, Benjamin, have one daughter at Lufkin Middle School.
