The Lufkin school district has named Josh Williams, current director of Technology, the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Brad Stewart, previous CTO, resigned to take a position with the private sector.
Williams earned his Bachelor of Technical Management from DeVry University in Irving, Texas. In 2019, he was named director of Technology for Lufkin ISD and has been leading a team of technicians to provide technology support across the district. He was named Technology Employee of the Year in 2014 and received the District Support Staff Leadership award in 2021.
“Josh Williams will be a great fit as the new Chief Technology Officer for Lufkin ISD,” Kurt Stephens, deputy superintendent, said. “He has been with the district since 2005 and has served as a Lead PC Technician, Webmaster, Network Administrator and most recently as the Director of Technology. Josh is knowledgeable, experienced, well respected by the staff and enters this position with enthusiasm to serve. I am both happy for the district and Josh as he transitions into this new role.”
“I am both honored and excited to step into the role of Chief Technology Officer,” Williams said. “Supported by an incredible team, we are committed to delivering top-notch technology and unparalleled support for the staff and students of Lufkin ISD.”
Josh and his wife, Elli, who is a librarian/media specialist at Slack Elementary, have two children: Wesley, a fifth-grader at Brandon Elementary, and Katelyn, a freshman at Lufkin High School.
