It was a beautiful morning for a race of our future Panthers!  Ten campuses (5 primary and 5 elementary) came together in a spirited one mile cross country competition for our Annual Run of the Panthers Meet.

Six boys and six girls from each grade level, 1st through 5th, at each campus, competed at Lufkin High School this morning, for a total of 300 young runners.  Coach Kristen Belshaw, Girls Athletic Director, coordinates the event as a way to promote physical activity and teamwork values.  Coach Belshaw said, I really love this event and how the kids come out and compete, representing their school with pride, while parents and community members cheer them on.”

The Lufkin High School Cross Country Team ran the course with the primary and elementary students, encouraging them along the way.  JV Tennis players helped work the course and pass out waters.  And, various LHS coaches helped make this fun event run smoothly for everyone.

Congratulations to all of the young runners on representing their home campuses and working hard to train and compete!
