Mason McCarty has been appointed as the new Director of Technology for Lufkin ISD. He takes over from Josh Williams, who has advanced to the role of Chief Technology Officer.
A 2014 graduate of Lufkin High School, McCarty went on to earn a degree in Information Technology with a minor in Geology from Stephen F. Austin State University. Prior to joining Lufkin ISD, McCarty gained experience working as a Systems Administrator at a local Managed Service Provider (MSP) in Lufkin, managing IT services for 12-15 small-to-medium-sized businesses across Texas.
“Being a part of the community is something I am really looking forward to,” McCarty said. “I have already attended some events, and it has been great seeing familiar faces from previous teachers to meeting new people.”
“Mason arrives with a rich expertise in navigating diverse challenges and fortifying business infrastructure,” Josh Williams, Chief Technology Officer, said. “His proven track record of providing top-tier customer service positions him as an asset to our team. I am confident that his experience will elevate the service and support we provide at Lufkin ISD.”
McCarty has already begun his work in this new capacity and is available for contact through the technology department at Lufkin ISD.
