In a press release by TCEA, Brad Stewart, Lufkin ISD Chief Technology Officer and TCEA Area 7 Director, along with Jessica Mays, TCEA Area 11 Director, were recognized with Innovative Leader Awards.
According to the release, “Each year, Tech & Learning, an award-winning producer of publications, websites, newsletters, and events for education leaders, recognizes extraordinary administrators for leading innovative teaching and learning in their schools and districts through their Innovative Leader Awards.”
Lori Gracey, the Executive Director of TCEA, congratulated Mays and Stewart for their recognition. She said, “Jessica and Brad are doing fantastic work in their districts and these awards are so well-deserved. We are proud and honored to have such innovative leaders on the TCEA Board of Directors. They continuously offer a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their professional communities, our staff, and our TCEA members.”
“We are very proud of this recognition for Brad Stewart,” said Lynn Torres, Supt. of Lufkin ISD. “Brad and his team saw us through some dark days during our recent cyber security incident. He is definitely worthy of this recognition.”
Stewart has been with the Lufkin ISD since 2008 and leads the Technology Department for the district.
