The Administrative Services Department recognized four employees in December who have shown leadership and dedication in their positions.
“Lufkin ISD has the best employees in our service departments. We are pleased to recognize these four that stand out as employees who go above and beyond,” said Daniel Spikes, Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services.
Student Nutrition : Diann Pineda, Student Nutrition Services Specialist
Ms. Pineda has been with the district 8 years.
“She has a great love for our students and an attitude of positivity and teamwork. She also decorates the high school serving lines to show her school spirit and to inspire the kids to love their school,” said Amanda Calk, SNS Director.
Transportation Department: Gayfer Jeffrey, Bus Driver
Mr. Jeffrey has been with the district for 25 years.
“Mrs. Jeffrey has been with the LISD transportation department for over 25 years! Wow! She is a behavior specialist, and she demands the best out of the students on her bus. She runs a tight ship. I have to say she has the cleanest bus I have ever inspected. We think a lot of Mrs. Jeffrey and she has dedicated many years to service, and we appreciate her for all that she does for LISD,” said Wayne Grissom, Transportation Director.
Maintenance Department: Clay Welch and Mark Rhodes
Mr. Welch has been with the district 6 years.
“Mr. Welch has done an outstanding job at the Lufkin High School campus,” said Johnnie Ross, Maintenance Director.
Mr. Rhodes has been with the district for 20 year.
“Mr. Rhodes has taken his crew and flexed their hours of work to help with the various COVID changes. We appreciate his work,” said Johnnie Ross, Maintenance Director.
