Lufkin ISD is pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Thompson as the new Maintenance Director, following the retirement of Johnnie Ross who served the district since 2015.
Thompson brings with him 24 years of experience, including two years as a summer helper in 2000 and 2001. His extensive background and expertise make him perfectly suited to lead the maintenance department.
In his new role, Thompson is eager to leverage his knowledge and experience to uphold the high standards of the maintenance department.
“I am honored and excited for the opportunity to bring my knowledge and experience into this new role as the Maintenance Director,” said Thompson. “I am confident that my staff will provide Lufkin with safe and efficient facilities to maximize the best environment for our students and staff.”
With Thompson at the helm, Lufkin ISD looks forward to continued excellence in facility maintenance and providing a safe, conducive environment districtwide.
“We are excited about working with Mr. Thompson as our new Maintenance Director,” said Superintendent of Administrative Services Daniel Spikes. “He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, having worked for LISD in a number of capacities for many years. His passion and dedication to Lufkin ISD is evident in everything he does, and that passion and dedication will serve him well as one of our district leaders.”
