Lufkin ISD administration named Tiffany Sootoo as the new Director of Transportation and Fleet Services. She comes to Lufkin ISD with a wealth of knowledge in the school transportation business.
“I have been in School Transportation for 18 plus years. It has been my honor to serve on the Board of the Gulf Coast Association of Pupil Transportation covering Regions 4 and 6 for the past four years,” said Ms. Sootoo.
“We are excited about adding Ms. Sootoo to our team. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position, which will enable her to hit the ground running. I’m happy she chose to join us, and I look forward to working with her,” said Daniel Spikes, Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services.
Ms. Sootoo has a background in each part of transportation including training and special needs.
“As Director, I uphold safety to its highest standard. Each job is an important role in student education. Transportation staff are entrusted by the community to provide safety sensitive services for each student transported. This is our part in educating students,” she said.
“We are the first and last to see these students and often are placed in multiple roles while still ensuring their safety. I have a heart for all students and want to have a positive impact in the lives of students, parents, community and staff,” said Ms. Sootoo.
