Logan Armstrong was named Valedictorian and Garin Ashby was named Salutatorian through Zoom calls with their families and Lufkin ISD Administration to ensure social distancing. Both students were very excited and have worked extremely hard for this honor, according to Superintendent Lynn Torres who was on the call.

Surrounded by her family on the Zoom call, Logan thanked them for helping her reach her goals.

At Lufkin High School, he was the Lufkin FFA (President, Vice-President, Sentinel), LHS Student Council (President, Secretary), LHS Swim Team Manager, LHS Baseball Team Manager, Angelina County 4H Horse Club (President, Treasurer, Sergeant-at-Arms, Parliamentarian), Angelina County 4H County President, Ignite Mentor, LHS Band member, KYSSED Club member, National Honor Society (President).
Garin said, “I am thankful for the teachers, friends, and family who have encouraged me to work as hard as I can in high school. Without them, none of this would have been possible, and I am extremely grateful for their continuous support.”
The two will have their speeches videoed during the week of May 18 in the Tom Jack Lucas auditorium in front of their family members. The speeches will be added to the compiled graduation video that will be available on the school’s website and a copy given to each graduate.
Congratulations to these two and job well done!
