Transportation Services annual bus sign-up dates 2019-20 school year
All bus sign-up requests must be done at the Transportation facility located at 811 South Timberland Drive (all grade levels Regular and Special Needs)
July 22nd – July 24th Monday through Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
July 29th – August 1st Monday through Thursday, 7a.m. to 7 p.m.
August 5th – 7th Monday through Wednesday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Must provide proof of residency. Acceptable forms include:
- Current water bill
- Current light bill
- Current gas bill
- Current Cable/Satellite bill
- Rental lease
- House deed
- Current vehicle insurance along with a valid Texas State ID that has the matching address
- Checkbook along with a valid Texas State ID that has the matching address
If you live with someone and therefore unable to provide a utility bill in your name, please call Tonja Akridge, Lufkin ISD Social Worker, at (936) 630-4287, for further assistance.
Please note: Address changes and current phones numbers must be updated and completed at the campus of attendance.
Why do I have to come to Transportation to register my child for bus service?
We require signing up annually to verify that addresses are eligible and to process essential documentation. Many of our students are transitioning to other schools, which can change busing assignments and times. We annually audit our transportation service in order to make efficient and economical decisions; therefore, routes may be added or deleted, which can change bus numbers, pick up and drop off locations, and route paths from the previous year.
Please note: If bus rider is not signed up by the above dates the next opportunity will be on the first day of school and go throughout the school year Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 11:45 a.m.
