Four LHS students will compete at the Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas in March.
The students recently competed at the regional level securing spots to the state conference. Miracle Murphy placed second in Legal Office Procedures; Samantha Standley placed first in Fundamental Word Processing; Crystal Dolman placed second in Advanced Word Processing and Juan Barron placed first in Java Programming.
Each student will compete individually and has spent hours taking practice tests and improving their skill and knowledge in the area of competition.Competition events are 60 minutes long, and students will have specific jobs and tasks to complete. Students are graded on accuracy, format, grammar, following directions, and subject knowledge – all skills that will be vitally important in the work force.
Business Professionals of America (BPA) is a national organization for students preparing for careers in business and office applications.
