549 students from grades 3rd through 12th were recognized for having exceptional grades at the Superintendent’s Honor Roll Breakfast. Dr. Goffney began the breakfast three years ago to honor students for their academic achievement. Mayor Pro Tem Mark Hicks welcomed the students and LHS senior Seth Jordan said the invocation. Two speakers who are alumni came back to address the group, Hudson Henderson, class of 2006, and Malcolm Deason, class of 1993. Three high school seniors spoke about their experiences at Lufkin High School: Zariah Hadnot, Allison Todd and Aiden Willis. Door prizes donated by Whataburger, Absolutely Fiction, Haglund Law Firm, the Technology Department and Digital Learning Department were given out. Each student received a medal and a full breakfast prepared by Tome’ Catering.
