The Burley Primary Student Nutrition Services staff are the Golden Spatula winners for April. According to the director of Student Nutrition Services, Amanda Calk, the Burley team has worked hard all school year for this award. The Golden Spatula award is given to a cafeteria staff that goes above and beyond to make school mealtime fun and delicious.
Mrs. Calk said, “They have often worked shorthanded but pulled together as a team in order to get the job done. They decorate the cafeteria and wear cute head hoppers to make the kids smile.”
She said, “One morning a little boy came in late so one of the ladies sat down with him so that he would not have to eat alone. It’s the little gestures that make a positive impact on the lives of our kiddos.”
