Sarah Dixon, 2nd grade teacher at Dunbar Primary, incorporated coding and electronics with an Olympic theme with her 2nd graders on Friday. The students used Magnatiles to build a bobsled ramp and Lego task cards that are Olympic themed. They also had art activities with Olympic rings and made a paper torch. The 2nd grade students will rotate among the “events” demonstrating the activities to the Kindergartner students. Some of the materials the students used were purchased with a grant from the Lufkin ISD Education Foundation.
