Sebastian Stormwent knows he’s not alone. He has lots of friends, family and a special school nurse who helps him daily when it comes to managing his Type I Diabetes. Sebastian was diagnosed as a kindergartener and now he’s in second grade. His nurse, Tammy Haney, does a great job encouraging Sebastian as well as educating his friends at school about why Sebastian has to manage his sugar level in his blood. To really get the word out, Mrs. Haney wanted to do a balloon release in Sebastian’s honor and to celebrate World Diabetes Day in hopes for a cure one day. It was a beautiful day for a balloon release and Sebastian’s confidence level was sky high. Thank you to the staff and administration at Trout Primary for creating awareness and showing us what we can do to encourage and support those who live with diabetes.
