Dr. Ron Johnson, LHS Class of 1989, is presently the Associate Professor of History at Texas State University. He was a former CIA analyst, former Foreign Service Officer (US Diplomat), and former Lieutenant in the US Navy. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas State University, master’s degrees from Johns Hopkins University and Boston University and his Ph.D. at Purdue University.
He is the author of Diplomacy in Black and White: John Adams, Toussaint Louverture, and Their Atlantic World Alliance (University of Georgia Press, 2014) and a recipient of the following awards:
